About Us

Sandra & Rupe Attwood

Willowpitch Vinyl Record Specialists are husband and wife partnership Sandra (San) and Elwyn (Rupe) Attwood. “We began selling vinyl records and fishing tackle back in the early 1980’s however we created the brand ‘Willowpitch’ in 2000. We now trade exclusively in good quality vinyl records and trade as ‘Willowpitch Vinyl Record Specialists’”.

The name ‘Willowpitch’ has an carp angling connection and relates to when renowned angler of the period (1950’s) Mr Richard (Dick) Walker landed his 44lb record carp (Clarissa) from Redmire Pool in Herefordshire.   Dick netted his fish beneath the boughs of the Willow tree growing on the banks of the pool, Mr Walker subsequently christened that swim, ‘The Willow Pitch’.  Willowpitch therfore seemed to be a very appropriate name for our business – dealing in special quality records.”

Rupe has an interest in angling and angling history. He has written two books on the subject that relate to fishing reel manufacturers, J.W. Young & Sons of Redditch. Both books entitled, ‘J.W. Young & Sons A Century in the Art of Making Fishing Reels’ have been published by The Medlar Press.
